Step by step report the Itasha Mazda RX-7(FD) "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"
Step 7 : Assembling the Body



Windshield (windscreen)

Polished the windshield with a # 2000 sandpaper and compound.
  • Left: Before polished.
  • Right: After polished.
The windshield became more transparent.




I printed original decal of safety check and garage certificate stickers (Japanese type).
Upper is clear decal with a ink jet printer. Lower is foundation white decal with an Alps MD printer.




Applied the garage certificate sticker on the rear windshield.




Airbrushed the the sun-shade to the reverse side of front windshield. Applied the safety check stickers, and coated the clear paint on it.





Tail Lights

Masked the circular taillights of the reverse side.
Airbrushed the clear black paint.




Masked the clear black paint area, and Airbrushed a clear red and clear orange paints to the taillights.




Masked the The black-frame inside and center stop lamp of front side.




Airbrushed the black paint.
Peeled the masking sheets, and coated the clear paint.





Rear Wing
The panel line of the side plate is omitted. I replicated it by engraving on the side plat with an art knife.




Put the taillight and the rear wing.





Radio Antenna
The radio antenna is omitted. I replicated it of a stretched sprue.





Wipers and Washer Nozzles
Changed the wiper parts for photoetched parts from Fujimi.



Remade the washer nozzles of a stretched sprue because they were cut off for polishing the body.





Side Marker Lamps and Brake Air Ducts

Remade the side marker lamps of a epoxy glue because they were cut off for polishing the body.




Front view of the fender.
Put the black metal meshes to the reverse side of brakes air ducts.





Combination Lamps and Fog Lamps
Put the reflectors of combination lamps and fog lamps to the reverse side of front bumper that were build in Step 1. Next, put the combination lamp lenses and lens covers.





Finished the Body Assembling
