 Step 3 : Body Painting and Apply the Decals
 Surface Primer
I painted the body with the Tamiya surface primer and polished the surface
with the sandpaper #1000 -#1500 - #2000.
Paint the Body
I painted the backside of body with flat black.
I painted the surface of body.
- 1st : Base white
- 2nd : GSI Creos GX3 Hermann Red.
I painted the GSI Creos GX100 Super Clear III.
Sandpapered the surface with the sandpaper #1000 -#1500 - #2000 and polished
with the compound.
I panted the bottom of front nose on white.
I panted the engine door frame on gunmetal. The base paint was finished.
Apply the Decal
The Uma Uma Decal is a silk screen print. It is thick. and hard.
I stuck the decal on the body with the towel moistened with the hot water.
The Uma Uma Decal is not transparent at all! This is made in Japan, but is excellent quality like the Cartograf.
Two yellow small star is insufficient. I made them by myself with the Alps
MD printer.
Left is the decal by myself. Right is the Uma Uma Decal.
Clear Coating
First coating.
I painted lacquer clear paint so thinly to be fixed the decal on the body
with the airbrush. The surface is rough.
Sandpapered the surface too light.
Second coating. Coated the urethane clear paint on the sandpapered surface.
I sandpapered well the surface with #800 sandpaper, after hardened the
urethane clear paint. The surface still has a bump of decal.
Third coating.
It is final coat with the urethane clear paint. I sandpapered well the surface with #800 sandpaper again after hardened. The bump of decal was rubbed off.
Polish
I sandpapered the surface with #1000, #1200, #1800, and 2000 sandpapers.
And polished it with compound.
I coated lacquer clear paint to the clear parts applied the decals. And
also sandpapered and polished the surface.
Body Painting was finished
I painted the windshield frame, and the boby panting was finished.
