Aoshima 1/24 Itasha series No.1
Step by step report the Itasha Mazda RX-7(FD) "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"
Step 2 : Modify the Body and Chassis

Front Area

There is the shrink mark on the panel line between the bonnet and the bumper. Modified it by putty.

Rear Garnish

Chink is shown in the rear garnish and the body.

Modified it by putty too. The rear garnish was polished after this, and it was shone as before.

Fuel Tank

The left part of the fuel tank is cut off, and there is not the part to put to it. This chassis part is shared with FC (second generation RX-7) kit released later the FD RX-7 kit. Aoshima remodeled the mold then (their work is sloppy... :-<). In the case of FC, the muffler part put to this part.

I restored this cut off part of a epoxy putty.

Fixed Screw Nut
Put the screw nuts on the reverse side of oil pan and fuel tank, and strengthened it with a epoxy putty.

Adjust the Rear Wheels

Rear wheels are sticking out of the fenders slightly.

I shortened the deep of the bearing.

After adjustment. The looks improved!

Oil Coolers

The oil coolers are omitted. I scratched build them of a plastic sheet and a mesh photoetch.

Front view through the air-intakes of front bumper.
