Remodel the Tamiya 1/24 scale Sports Car Series, Mitsubishi GTO
Mitsubishi GTO (3000GT VR-4) Glass Top 1992 Making Report
My friend's Mitsubishi GTO (3000GT) is glass top model 1992 version. (image) Tamiya kit is early model 1990 version and hard top body. I remodeled this kit into his car.


Step 1: Glass Top




Heat press the Glass Top



I copied the roof pattern for pressed with a clay.



The roof pattern was completed.




A clear polyvinyl chloride sheet was heat pressed.




Unnecessary part was cut off, and the glass top was completed.





Remodel the Roof

Cut off the roof area that is put glass top.




I scratch build the roof flame with plastic sheet. The ditch of the tip (yellow putty area) is received point of roof spoiler.
Roof flame was put into roof.




I scratch build the tilt up lift.




The lift part was put to the lining of roof. The tilt up gimmick was completed. Roof spoiler will be put the future.
